Golden Alexander Loosestrife has masses of beautiful spikes of gold star-shaped flowers at the ends of the stems from late spring to early summer, which are most effective when planted in groupings. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its attractive pointy leaves remain green in color with showy yellow variegation throughout the season. The fruit is not ornamentally significant. Golden Alexander Loosestrife is a dense herbaceous perennial with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its medium texture blends into the garden, but can always be balanced by a couple of finer or coarser plants for an effective composition.
